The theme this year is ‘Speaking Story into the Darkness’, which I am very happy to embrace! I’ve got several online events, but I’m also going on a London adventure with Jason! On New Year’s Day, my phone rang. It was Heather, a wonderful Blue Badge guide I met and worked (well, played) with during years of working on Harry Potter tours – visiting film and mythological sites, telling the wealth of folklore and legend J.K. Rowling based her books on and generally embracing a world of magic and mischief. Heather has her own very successful tour company now and has just opened a rather swish hotel in London – Hotel Indigo Clerkenwell. Heather is determined that her hotel with be a place for live events -a comfortable cultural space. Through her tour work she has all sorts of contacts with authors, archeologists, adventurers – and, of course, me! So for the start of National Storytelling Week, Jason and I will be hanging out in Clerkenwell with both family and adult sessions – if you’re based in London – why not come see us!
